Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Chamberlain Down Dual-Chamber Pillow differ from other down and feather pillows?

The Dual-Chamber Pillow uses a dual-chamber construction with a generous layer of down on the outside and a supportive layer of feathers on the inside. This prevents clients from feeling any quills while they sleep. Unlike many down and feather pillows that can feel like a bag of quills, the Dual-Chamber Pillow will feel soft and puffy.

What does it mean to be a hotel-style pillow?

Our pillows are sourced from the same factories that supply pillows to many of the luxury hotels in the United States. The design and craftsmanship of these pillows involve a more substantial down layer than most down and feather pillows. Many people who try this style of pillow for the first time are surprised by how puffy the pillows feel compared to mass-market down and feather pillows or polyester fiber pillows that are typically purchased by consumers. The pillows are part of what makes a luxury hotel experience great, and Chamberlain Down is committed to helping consumers bring that experience home.

What does it mean for the down and feathers to be Triple Clean?

Our down and feathers are Triple Clean: (1) Hygienically cleaned to ensure the best quality pillows, (2) Ethically sourced for a clean conscience, (3) Hypoallergenic

How supportive is the pillow? Will my head sink into the pillow or stay on top?

The down layer on the outside will feel airy and soft, like an air cushion. For most people, their head will sink slowly into the outer down layer. The inner layer of feathers will provide support and prevent further sinking. Importantly, the down layer will still be substantial enough to prevent direct contact with the inner layer of feathers. For the average person, the pillow will compress from a fully-fluffed 8-inch loft to somewhere between 5 inches and 6 inches.

What are the dimensions of the Standard and King sizes?

The Standard size is 26 inches by 20 inches while the King size is 36 inches by 20 inches. These dimensions match most Standard- or King-sized pillowcases, respectively.

How do I keep the pillow clean?

We recommend using a pillowcase or a pillow protector on the pillow. Regular wash cycles for the pillowcase or pillow protector will keep the pillow clean. To maintain the luxury feel of the pillow itself, professional laundering produces best results. We do not recommend machine-washing or hand washing the pillow. If the pillow gets wet, dry it as quickly as possible and fluff to restore the loft.

Will the pillow go flat over time?

Unlike polyester fiber pillows, premium down and feather pillows can be fluffed back up to restore the loft. We recommend fluffing the pillow in the morning to keep it lofty. With good care, we expect the pillows to stay fluffy for around 3 years, which is the recommended replenishment cycle for pillows.

Will the down and feathers escape the pillow?

Due to the high construction quality and fabric weave we use, it is very unlikely for the down and feathers to escape with regular use. The 100% cotton shell uses a Cambric weave, which is down-proof. The seams of the pillow are double-stitched and piped all around for extra protection.
